With 21 years of active-duty Army service, including leadership roles around the world, Boehnke brings a mission-first commitment to national security, veterans, and supporting law enforcement in the fight against fentanyl, cartel activity, and crime impacting communities across Central Washington communities.
Boehnke currently represents the 8th Legislative District in the Washington State Senate and is the Ranking Member on the Senate Energy, Environment, and Technology Committee. He has emerged as the leading voice for advanced nuclear, clean hydrogen, and an affordable, reliable power grid critical to supporting Central Washington’s agriculture, food processing, and growing manufacturing base.
He also serves on the Higher Education, Rules, and Ways and Means committees, focusing on workforce training, responsible budgeting, and accountability in how taxpayer dollars are spent.
Outside the legislature, Boehnke is a tenured cybersecurity professor at Columbia Basin College, where he founded the Cybersecurity program. Through his work, he has trained the next generation of skilled workers to protect critical infrastructure, small businesses, and local governments from growing digital threats.
